Does applying for tuition assistance affect my child’s chances of being admitted to THS?

Students are considered for admission independent of financial need. THS wholeheartedly welcomes those of all economic means.

 

If I expect that my circumstances would only allow for a small grant, should I still apply?

Yes, absolutely! THS makes a wide range of grant allocations, recognizing that for some families even a small amount of assistance can make a critical difference.

 

Is financial assistance automatically renewed each year?

Tuition assistance is renewed each year as long as a family demonstrates continued need. Each family is required to reapply for assistance annually and must submit the necessary forms within the established time frame in order to qualify.

 

When tuition levels increase, do grants increase as well?

Yes. Tuition assistance grants increase when tuition increases, and in direct proportion to the family’s continuing need.

 

Does tuition support cover school related expenses?

At the present time, tuition assistance covers the cost of tuition.  As the school continues to grow, so will our financial capabilities. We expect that over time, extended care, class trips, and other school related expenses will be part of what will be covered by tuition assistance.

 

Are the deadlines important?

Yes, definitely. In order to make fair and expeditious decisions for all families, and to ensure the implementation of a successful program, it is very important to adhere to the established deadlines. However, when a family is unable to obtain all necessary tax information by the financial assistance application deadline, a provisional 1040 may be submitted. Of course, all awards will be subject to verification of the 1040 information.

 

Are assets as important as income in determining a grant?

Yes. All assets are factored into the report and recommendation provided by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS).
